Too much work in 1 season? Is auditioning for 2 shows in the same season too much work? I mean, I don't plan on getting a lead, but at least being a supporting role or part of the ensemble for both shows... It's going to be around the beginning of the schoolyear, just to let you know.
Should I audition for both or just my favorite? Thanks.
And if it isn't too much work, all I'll have to do is figure out how to ask my mom.

I would audition for both. You can always not accept one of the roles and take the larger one or more fun one.
Of course, if you don't feel you could handle two at once (I know I couldn't!), only take one of the roles. If you feel you could handle two roles at once, accept both roles.

LOL it's the story of my life!!!
Ive only started doing shows outside of school feb 2005 (18 months ago). It's been my last year in school as well and I've been rehearsing for shows for that long! The only break I've had was over christmas.
I've rehearsed 3 shows at a time with school work and exams on top - it's amazing, you can get stressed out to the max, but it's all worth it!! The experience is amazing.
I've counted 11 shows in the last 18 months that i've done.
Do it!! Audition for both - and if you do get a lead, take it! But it all depends on how well you want to do in school.
Good luck!

It's possible. Almost anything is possible if you are willing to do the work for it. I've rehearsed for two shows at once before. It is do-able.
However, just know that you will not be able to do everything. You may end up putting your shows before your schoolwork, or your shows and schoolwork before sleeping/eating/health. So something will suffer. For me, it's usually sleeping/eating/health. I really crash after I finish a show. I'm exhausted.

Im the same. Sleeping/eating tend be put out for me, but if i get a chance i grab either. Ive been rehearsing 2 shows for the whole of the last year with a few weeks exceptions here and there. If I've coped in my last year of school, i think you can

This spring i was Dream Laurie, Dance Captain, and Ensemble in Oklahoma (3 dances to remember every single cast member's part), the Whitley (lead) in Next Step (ballet...8 dances), Nightmare in sleep over (1 dance), and soloist in choir.
It is definitely possible to do two shows.

you need to keep in mind your own personal strengths and weaknesses. someone else can do eight shows in a month, but can you? are you generally organized? punctual? do you learn quickly, or does it take extra work? are you quick to memorize? can you keep your two separate schedules straight? if both shows rehearse sun-thurs 7-10, then you obviously can't do both. see what the committment is going to be and go from there!
