Tony Performance!

What did you think about it?

I really enjoyed the Tony Performance, this was actually my first time seeing anything from the show and I loved it!

Your Thoughts?
i'm_back

I thought it was neat, and I really like it.

and i'm guessing they pretaped the outside sequence, because if not, they must have undergone some really fast costume changes.

I thought all the stuff outside looked really sloppy. "One" was better.

Really? I loved the outside bit. I thought it was such a clever opening. I'm really sick of "One". Whenever the cast of ACL is on a TV show or something (eg. Good Morning AMerica, the Thanksgiving Parade), they do "One"... and there are SO many great songs from ACL, especially its fabulous opening.

I'm not as amazing as dancers as they are...but honestly...I thought it looked a little sloppy. Idk.

I liked the first part, but as for "One"...I agree with W_T_H. Show people something different, for a change!

They should have done the montage...

I was just glad that they didn't do "Music and the Mirror." If you ever go see ACL on Broadway, that's the perfect time to use the restroom.

Out of all the performances shown last night, it was the catchiest and impressed me the most.

I'm considering seeing it on Broadway in April.

Sorry if I offended you but I personally didn't like her performance at all. It's just my opinion =)

Next time you have a lead role on Broadway, I'll be sure to get up and pee during your big song.

There's no need to be rude, it's just my opinion. I thought she was a mediocre Cassie and I thought her number was boring...so shoot me. Jeez. It's ok to dislike a performance.

I love how rude the WWW makes you sound when you're joking. It goes to show how much subtext and the way you say something plays into its meaning. Thank you, Stanislavski Very Happy

It came off to me that you were being rude so I'm sorry I took it the wrong way. Maybe you should use emoticons or something.

No worries. Not offended. Smile

But I am perplexed!

I think it's one of the show's most incredible numbers.

Though Charlotte's dancing was great, her vocal performance was a bit strange sounding.
BroadwayBaby0202

That's exactly what it is - her voice. Maybe she was out of breath or something but her voice sounded really off. There's no doubt she's a great dancer but I think the choreography for that song is a little weak in particular and I was very bored. I think that Charlotte is probably more capable of better technique but once again, this is just my opinion.

I have to agree. When I saw the show, I loved her dancing but was kind of suprised by her voice. It wasn't at all what I was expecting, and a bit of a let down, to be honest.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that's the time to use the restroom, though. I do love that song, even when the person performing it isn't an amazing singer.

Yes, One is soo overdone.
Its only great at the end of the show.

The outside stuff, while really smart, was probably thrown together at the last second. I still enjoyed watching it, but it was sloppy.

i agree...i HATE charlotte's voice...and that song is kinda...ehhh for me.
Anno_Domini

Well, I've got nothing against "One". I mean, it is the very definition of "showstopper", and it does in fact represent what they are all working towards: a spot in the show.
