I haven't listened to the CD completely yet, but I love "Practically Perfect".

I have mixed feelings about this. I think that the two leads were great, the score is wonderful, but I don't think any of them deserve Tony's....

well, maybe Brown.

Brown does, so they have a catergory for best special effects or best staged. If so, this musical deserves it.

...aren't we forgetting BEST MUSICAL?

It's a really tough year for Tony's Best Leading Actress in a Musical race and unfortunately, Ashley Brown didn't make it.

Christine Ebersole to win!

I'm also not convinced that there is anything revelatory in the score. The new material is pleasant enough but I don't think it is as cohesively integrated into the show as it could be, nor do I think all of the adaptations made to the old material work as well as they could. I do, however, think the new lyrics for "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" are great and I like the counterpoint to "Jolly Holiday". One of the other things that really doesn't add up for me is the use of the "A Man Has Dreams" reprise without the use of "The Life I Lead". It just seems like a missed opportunity - or a cheat - and is indicative, to me, of the primary problem of the score of the stage show - it is is a collection of (middling to good to great) songs that never adds up to the whole it should be.
