To Choir or not to Choir?I have a dilemma in course-choosing for next year.
I currently take Choir, Theatre, and Fashion Design. Next year, I NEED to be taking a foreign language to graduate. The way our scheduling works, I can achieve this one of two ways.
A. Quit Choir.
B. Come an hour earlier to school, making my already busy schedule even fuller.
My question is, is quitting choir bad for your voice? I am in one other choir which meets once a week, and I have private voice once a week, but will no longer be singing in a group setting daily. Will this affect illy upon my auditions for school musicals? More importantly, will it be bad for my voice?

Come an extra hour and deal with it.
Okay, I guess I could be more empathetic.
You don't want to overwork yourself.
Take a year off choir and look for other thing besides that choir to keep you voice in shape.
Or you could drop fashion design.

I feel your pain! Requirements get in the way of taking the electives you love.
If you think you can handle it, I think you should try to come an hour early. If not, quitting choir will not harm your voice (assuming you practice on a regular basis on your own - which I'm sure you do ).
As for affecting your auditions for school musicals, are you worried about the quality of your audition or that you might be looked over because you "dropped out" of choir? If the first, as I said before, don't worry. If the second, it depends on the people responsible for casting the show, would they take your quitting personally, or see it as a necesity for you to get a class taken?
