This show is so vocally demanding...I want to audition for Judas, in the upcoming Community Production of JCS. But, I am finding out, what I already knew... This show is so freaking vocally demanding. Most of Judas' Notes are on the top of my range... so...yep... its going to be difficult.

Oh my goodness yes it is lol It will be difficult but as long as you're on guard with your voice and are singing properly, you should be fine. Also keep in mind that you don't need to be singing full out in every single rehearsal. Sometimes its ok to just mark notes.

If you do warmups everyday (in the morning when you wake up and again at rehearsals) there is no reason why you can't sing all out in the rehearsals.
Judas is the meost demanding role in musical theatre. But, if you think you are the Judas they're looking for, go in and blow them away with your audition.

I just finished up simon in JCS and the chorus stuff is ridiculous. Most of the tenor one parts never go in the staff. it's all hard.
I found this out late, but remember, no extra-curricular singing! At All!

Yeah, even though it is really hard, I think it will be the most rewarding role I could ever do. If I got Judas, it would be wonderful...but If I went through it, and tore up the role--and did it amazingly, it would be the greatest building of my self esteem as an Actor. Although, I am doing more straight plays this season. Spring, its all about the Musicals--some that I plan on Auditioning for are: JCS, I Do! I Do!, La Cage Aux Folles (Jean Michael), and maybe...possibly...Fiddler.

Yes, this show is VERY hard to sing. I haven't ever tried out, but even just singing the main parts for fun is extremely hard. My voice kept cracking every time I tried to sing along!
