Getting ready to have auditions for community theatre production of 'Pippin' in May (I'm directing). Trying to decide on color schemes. Have thought about all black with various color accents. Have also thought of solid primary colors to give it the 60ish flow.

What has worked? What hasn't?

The production I was in had every single actor in black tights and leotard or black jazz pants and top. Then various pieces were layered on top - brightly colored scarves/tunics for "Magic to Do", funky armor for "War is a Science", etc. It was functional, and allowed freedom of movement for the complicated dances.

My friend was just in Pippin in my town, Phoenix, AZ, and the colors were all black and white with accents of hot pink. It was really cool and tied together with the flashes of pink everywhere
