The WSS movie trailer...as you've NEVER seen it before.West Side Story...as HORROR MOVIE?!A few people have done this to show how with editing and music, any movie can be made to seem like something it totally isn't. Someone made a trailer for The Shining that made it look like a feel-good family comedy. And now...this! Yes...it's West Side Story meets 28 Days Later! And it looks it, too! |

Okay. I will only say this once: WHAT THE ---- WAS THAT? |

It's a bit of an experiment by one or more film students (I'm a little hazy on exactly how many are doing this) to show the impact that editing and music have on our perception. Thus, with some changes in editing and music, West Side Story can have a trailer that touts it as a horror film.
And here's a link to the trailer I mentioned before, that paints The Shining as a feel-good movie. "Meet Jack Torrance..." There's a similar story of film students being shown an innocuous film of pigs in a barnyard...accompanied by some really scary, suspenseful-sounding music. The students were on edge watching the clip, waiting for the pigs to sprout fangs and start tearing each other apart, or a psycho killer to show up over the horizon, or something. |

Haha that is very interesting. It did work out and I would have believed that it was a horror movie had I not known WSS. |

My OpinionsDear Musicals.Net Posters,I don't know why, but the WSS "trailer" just doesn't seem very convincing. Yet, I totally wish that "Shining" (the "family" movie) was real; even though the narrator's voice sounds kinda unconvincing for a trailer narrator's voice, the "movie" sounds good! |

That was great. If I was somebody who hadn't seen WSS, I would think it was a horror film. |
