It used to be animatronics, but that was way back in the day. Only saw that once and that was my first time back in '95. Now it's done with dancers dressed as wolves.

I recently saw a local production where acrobats dressed as wolves flipped acrossed the stage chasing him while performing acrobatic stunts. It was really effectivie. Hope that helps! - BBeddy1
