the threepenny opera?

my college is doing this show in the spring and I plan on auditioning... but I've never seen the production

I found a synopsis and a cast list online. Does anyone have any opinions on the show in general or what part I might have the best shot at?

I'm not really sure what voice part I am just yet.... there is some conflicting opinion.... but at this point, I think I'm a mezzo. My range is from a C3 to a D6. Most of my previous roles are listed in my profile.

Salome is practically an expert on the show. PM her.

I really like it. It's considered quite influencial.

I love this show, If you're a mezzo, you might be better for Jenny Diver. If you can sing high enough, which it sounds like you can from your previous parts, theres Polly Peachum. Personally, I love Jenny, shes my favorite character. But if you want a higher part, listen to the Jealousy Duet. That's Polly and Lucy Brown, which is probably the highest they go in the show. Theres also Mrs. Peachum, Polly's mother, whos a soprano, but doesn't go all that high, to hear her range, listen to the Ballad of Sexual Imperative.
Good luck!
