I bought it, and though I have all the actual cast recordings, there¨s about two cds yet of stuff I don't own already. It's great, but possibly not something one must buy before being aquainted to Sondheim (mosty because so much of his music is better appreciated when in context).
Please,Hello

How much of the evening primrose does it have?

Search before you post...

Once upon a time there was a website about musicals. People joined the website and had a wonderful time discussing the musicals they liked as well as those they did not.

But, as time went by, their messages piled up like a tangled thornbush - people did not know whether they had discussed a topic or not and the constricting threads of words threatened to destroy their beautiful kingdom.

They hoped against hope that, one day, someone would save their kingdom. A beautiful fairy appeared, brought into existence by their desperate wishes. She bestowed upon them a search engine, which allowed them to type in keywords and find out things that had already been discussed. It was an amazing thing and prevented much frustration, annoyance and dislike. And they all lived happily ever after.

If you, Please Hello, used this magical search engine, you would find a thread that answers your questions and provides you with a track listing for this set of CDs. Even if you just read the titles of the threads on this board, you would find the appropriate thread on the second page.

the set is good for the pictures and the comments made about Sondheim...I mean, it's one of those "you got to have this if you are a Sondheim freak" kind of things, even if you own most of it. but for anyone wanting to get into Sondheim, I wouldn't recommend this. it seems like it's catered to people who know Sondheim is a genius, instead of the people who have yet to be converted. it's weird.
