The Producers Dvd...??Does anyone know why "King Of Broadway" was cut from the DVD release of the producers? It was in it at the cinema, and is one of my favourite songs/moments! I'm really hacked off about this.
Also very suprised, I thought maybe they slotted it in somewhere else (e.g. mucked around with the order), but noooo?!

Strange...it's on my dvd, but was cut when I went to see the film! It exists on my dvd under the special features menu, with a number of other cut moments from the film...

Yeah I have it under the special features but it's technically not in the film which is what I am talking about, because it was cut!!
I'm guessing they felt it slows down the pace. I agree the film version needed a further trip to speed it up a little (for the wider audience) and some other bits they cut were probably relevant but "King Of Broadway" is very amusing and I am shocked they removed it from the actuial film!

I never saw the play (I NEED TO! lol) but I do know King of Broadway-and when I saw the movie I was pretty surprised they didn't keep it in...and disapointed

King of Broadway was NOT in the cinema/theater release, but was added as a special feature on the DVD. Shame really, they should've just kept it in the film, its a great number.

i believe the director said (on another special features thing) that the number became a little redundant on the screen, as we were just told that Max had another big flop, and then if they had a number of him going on about how he used to be great, people would be bored in the first ten minutes of the movie. (Now dont get me wrong, i do love the number.)
I think the cut really shows how great the director was, becuase when making a movie musical, there really have to be reasons for breaking into song, or at least bigger ones than that on stage.

they should have kept King of Brpadway and Where did we go right and they should have cut That Face 9talk about a song tht brings the show ot a grinding halt!) and trimmed I want to Be a Producer.
