The Pirates of Penzance

My school just barely finished the show and we did the most amazing job ever. There are those normal high school productions were everything sucks, but ours was the exact opposite. It is also typical that the leads are pretty fair but the girl that played Mable was the role she was born to do. She has the most amazing vocal range and she did the most amazing job. Fredrick was amazing too, we had to move just a couple of notes down but the funny thing is that it sounded almost better than the original (sorry Gilbert and Sullivan), it is better than trying to try and reach them and just crack your voice also. We also got compliments that the chorus was amazing, usually the chorus isn't the very best, they said people started ooing and awing in the "hail poetry" part because it was so amazing.

I am just so sad today because last night was the closing, so I had to tell everyone how well we did. Because it was just so amazing.

It's a pretty amazing show, isn't it? I've done it four times (twice as Mabel, once as Edith, and once as a random chorus daughter).

I only wish they would let me sing tenor and be a pirate! It really doesn't get much better than "Catlike Tread"!

I just did this show over the summer. I played the Srgt of Police and we tap danced in all of numbers. Every move we did we had to make it big and tappie lol. We just hammed everything up and went over the top. The audience loved it. We had all guys for the pirates and then some girls for the policemen b/c we tap danced so they wanted tappers. I had a lot of fun doing this show.

Ya, I was a pirate the first act and a policeman the second act, which was pretty cool because me and one other kid were in the show more than anyone else even the main charachters except maybe Fredrick. I felt pretty swell about myself. I was hoping I would get the sargeant, but if I didn't get sargeant I told myself I would be just as happy if I got a bi character (Someone who is pirate and policeman) and I got the bi character so I was still just as satisfied.

I loved the policeman dances that we did we did the marching all penguin like and did some of the funniest things. My favorite song in the show is probablly when the foeman bears his steel, because we did a fun awesome dance and the song was so good.

Uh.. why did you have 1920s American looking cops, when it's set in Victorian Cornwall in England?

By the way, does anyone know the highest note of "Poor Wandring One"?
