The Mystery of Edwin Drood

Anyone else know/like this musical? I had never heard of it until my college announced it in their season this year. Tonight is our closing night, I'm on crew. I didn't audition because I wasn't prepared (and now I'm bummed I didn't audition...good show!)

I adore it! I think our production was really of a high quality! Goodtimes!

I have the soundtrack, and I like some of the songs, particularly Both Sides of the Coin (for some reason I just love songs that have really fast, wordy lyrics), but I haven't seen it. I'd like to, tho. It seems like an interesting show, and it did win the Tony in its time.
Salome

Brilliant show. I played Helena in college.

One of the best shows of the 1980s. it was also the great George Rose's last show before he was murdered.

He won the 1987 Tony Award for Best Actor for his role.

Oh my gosh I love this show!

I understand the feeling - my friend was in it, and I wanted to see it but couldn't. Once I heard "No Good Can Come from Bad" i was hooked.

One of my other friends gave me a copy of it *eee*

When I was a freshman, my high school did it. I wish I had gotten in, because it was INCREDIBLE! I think one of my really good friends is playing Drood right now in her production. I really want to see it!

I LOVE THIS SHOW. My school did it last year. I was Wendy (really small part...sang Moonfall Quartet) and also Drood's understudy. I REALLY love the role of Drood and it is one of my dream roles to actually perform. "No Good Can Come From Bad"=OHMYGOD. Such an amazing song. And I love this show because of the audience interaction and the whole voting thing.

Salome, do you have pictures? I'd love to see you as Helena!

Our cast was super talented. If I could pick a role to play, it would be the Princess Puffer, although Helena seemed awesome too.

Our Chairman was fantastic...He's on stage for like, the ENTIRE show. Definitely the star.

I just found out last night that a local theatre is doing this show in October/November. The Music Director has specifically asked that I audition. Glad to hear people had such a good experience with it. I'll definitely be auditioning now!
Salome

i'LL NEED TO DIG SOME PICS OUT.

and yes Lisa..one of the best shows from the 80s hands down.

Sweet, I'm excited Salome.

I'll be getting some pictures up of our costumes soon. Such an amazing show, I was proud to be a part of it even just as running crew.
