Aliso Viejo, California: South Orange County’s SOUTH COAST SYMPHONY, in conjunction with proVoce Productions, presents a staged concert version of Meredith Willson’s THE MUSIC MAN directed by Gary Gordon and Marianna Giordano, with Barry Silverman as Music Director and Conductor. This classic Broadway musical comes to life in this complete concert version. This is the story of a traveling salesman and con-artist, Harold Hill (Starring John Blaylock), and his visit to a small Iowa town in 1912. The musical score is filled with such all-time Broadway classics as Seventy-Six Trombones, Pick-A-Little Talk A Little, The Wells Fargo Wagon, and Till There Was You.
THE MUSIC MAN is the final concert of the symphony’s 10th Anniversary Season.

Maestro Barry Silverman, the driving force behind the South Coast Symphony since 1996, continues to provide South Orange County with an accessible, professional, and affordable symphonic musical experiences as he conducts this full symphony orchestra. While building an outstanding career as both a musician and conductor, Maestro Silverman has spent the last thirty-five years producing educational outreach programs for young audiences. Under his direction and vision, the South Coast Symphony created the Young Stars of the Future competition and concert, and the Symphony's educational outreach programs, Koncerts for Kids. Mr. Silverman is a Music Specialist for the Capistrano Unified School District and has lectured and taught at universities here and abroad.
