The Maid?I just got cast as the maid. Who is she and what does she do?

She is the first to see Father when he returns from the north pole. She mistakes him for a peddler or something, but Little Boy recognizes him and runs to him. She has a few lines. Unless you're "Kathleen", the first maid that gets fired for freaking out when Mother finds the negro baby in the garden. She has a line or two also, generally freaking out.
Most likely you're doubling up as ensemble as well?

I played Kathleen, among other ensemble roles. It's a small, very over-dramatic role that requires an Irish accent. Are you also in the ensemble?

I played Kathleen too! lol. yay. yeah, you're probably also in the immigrant or New Rochelle ensembles. it's a fun part.
