THE LION KING in Vegas

The Lion King will open in Las Vegas next year, according to an article at Playbill. Unlike some other shows, The Lion King will be the full-length show as seen on Broadway.

I Live in Vegas and Yes it is here but I havent seen it yet but I hope to. I saw it in New york but sadly in my expriance when shows come to Vegas they cut them so they can get people gambleing. Sad they ruined The Producers when it was here its no wonder it only lasted a year.

It's not just your experience. It's a fact of life.

However, the cut-down Phantom is still going strong. You can't cite the shortening of shows as a reason for their lack of success.

A girl from my town is Young Nala (half the time, anyway). I've seen the show on tour and absolutely loved it. Yay for Vegas!

Kissy Simmons is Nala in Vegas and she was on Broadway when I saw her and she's fantastic.

The Lion King - Vegas

I have just returned from Vegas, and I had the pleasure of seeing the Lion King at Mandalay Bay.
Let me start off by saying that I am VERY picky when it comes to shows, and have seen the Lion King in NY, London and Hamburg and found fault with ALL of them. Though I love the show, sometimes, 1 or 2 cast members leave me underwhelmed.
The Vegas cast were outstanding! I loved the show again (being the 6th time that I have seen it). If you are wondering if you should make the effort to see it, do! My only question was the elimination of the Aerial Ballet in 'Can you feel the love tonight'? I just thought that it is the most 'Vegas-sy' moment in the show, and then they took it out.. in Vegas?!

But really good show. Highly recommend it.

So the Vegas show is uncut except for that scene, it runs the full 2 and a half hours?
