There will be a revival of THE GOLDEN APPLE, by Jerome Moross and John LaTouche, in San Francisco in a couple weeks. Ethan Mordden and Ken Mandelbaum both devote entire chapters to it in their books on musicals(Best Foot Forward, and Not Since Carrie). I traveled from the East Coast to Chicago to see the 1995 revival and was glad I went.
