When I saw him with Frank Rich at Avery Fischer in January, he wasn't working on any new shows, but he did say that wanted "to start writing music again". I believe he's currently compiling a book of his annotated lyrics...but this was in January.

His acceptance message for the acheivment Tony last year seemed to hint at something for the future.

He famously optioned the film Groundhog Day, but got carried away in Bounce/Road Show and never completed work on the project, if he ever started it at all.
Now THAT would be a score. Endless variation and repetition developing into a better and better theme by the end of the show.
