Hello all, I was just curious as to what kind of a part the evil stepmother is. From her part I gather a comical essence, but as well as the comic relief is she supposed to be a hateful character?

If anyone could give me personal comments about this character plz do.

She is simply called the stepmother in this version. Along with the stepsisters Joy and Portia she provides a good bit of the comedy in the show.

Unlike the stepmother in the Disney cartoon who IS evil, the stepmother in this version is basically uncaring about Cinderella. She treats her as a servant, but actually, isn't all that sweet to her own daughters.

She sings in "When You're Driving Through The Moonlight" and "A Lovely Night"

ohhh okay that makes sense because when i was reading for her it seemed that she wasnt all together evil or hateful but humerous in her own obsessive and over-the-top way. thanx for the reply!
