TylerMcMahon

Katie why did i not know you were in the Chicagoland area???
SmallTownIngenue

Random: I had no idea so many Mdners were in the Chicago area. I'm visiting (and possibly moving) there soon.

But yes Katie, tell us how it was! Smile

It's that time again...

It would be great to hear how the show was, but how about doing it on the Stage Door or Other Shows forum where the topic of the thread would be appropriate and won't get lost within a couple of days?

It was like, the WEIRDEST thing I've ever seen in a really good way. It was REALLY funny, and some of the songs were really catchy. The audience overall had a really good reaction. I liked the first act a lot more than the second act. The set and lights are OUT OF THIS WORLD, like really exciting and awesome. There's a lot of randomness, and it's also like ALL about sex, PG-13 for sure; like my sister is 14, and I'd take her, but I don't really think she'd enjoy it that much, it's more of an adult show. There were some mistakes, lighting and tech-wise (I mean, its still a rehearsal), and there are some things that I think will change as it moves along in its Chicago run. Some of my favorite parts were the Act 1 Finale, and the duet between Wednesday and Lucas in the 2nd act. The like creepy crazy humor was my favorite part, I really liked it and it was really exciting to be there. Bebe and Nathan were phenomenal imo. Carolee Carmello, the one who plays Lucus' (Wednesday's love interest) mom is FIERCE, I really loved her.
There's definitely some great stuff there, and I'm sure it'll tighten up as it goes through its run here.

Haha, I don't know! Are you?

I really want to see this when I'm home over Thanksgiving break! Curse you, Indiana, for not having theatre anywhere near my college!

Gosh this has been a really busy thread with a lot of on topic discussion. Guess you really showed me...

Rolling Eyes

Post threads in an appropriate place. It does everyone a favour in the long run.

Unfortunatley, the Stage Door gets next to no traffic, so there's no point in posting a thread that you want people to talk on and reply to. It's fine for announcing stuff, but don't expect too many replies...that's what I found anyway...
Quique

Like most people, a part of me is curious to see what they do with this.

A larger part of me wonders when or if I'll ever feel passionate about a new musical again.
RainbowJude

But...

And yet, the thread about The Addams Family on that board is 4 pages long with posts that actually deal almost exclusively with the show, compared to this one which is 2 pages long and has about 3 posts that are actually relevant. I'm no mathematician, but...

The problem of there being little or no traffic on other boards is only perpetuated by posting things on the Social Club board that really belong elsewhere. The people that are actually here for the purpose for which this site was created to discuss musicals will make the effort to post things in the appropriate place and make the effort to look at the other boards. Even if someone is too lazy to do that, they can get a list of all the posts since their last visit by clicking on the "View posts since last visit" link on the main page, just under the birthday bar.

Those that are really here to discuss off topic stuff and gossip and argue for argument's sake - the courtesan poster, if you will - won't. All of this other stuff is fine and often appropriate within the context of the Social Club board and it's the reason the board was changed from being a Miscellaneous Board in the first place. But the fact is that the Miscellaneous Board is no more and the Social Club is a different thing, not merely a substitute. Posting in an appropriate place also streamlines searching later on and often eliminates duplicate threads. So we really should look at the bigger picture rather than satisfy our needs for instant gratification through posting anywhere and everywhere we like.

Anyways.

I'm glad you liked it. How do you see it doing in NY? Long run? Short? Major changes? Tony success? How was Lane and Neuwerth?
TylerMcMahon

Then Become a MOD and move the thread until then quit bitching!

So Katie how was it??
Beagle On Stage

Though it pains me to say it, I agree with David. A place for everything and everything in its place. From my perspective, as someone who generally doesn't follow breaking news about what is currently playing, it gets pretty annoying having to sift through threads I don't care about because they aren't where they belong.
TylerMcMahon

Again become a MOD and move it
Beagle On Stage

I've been a mod. They can't be everywhere and sometimes they have to judge which fish to fry. The fact that the mods can't babysit the location of every thread doesn't mean we shouldn't all make an effort.
