Um... So I read on a broadway survey that they are coming out with The Addams Family on Broadway for the I think 09-10 season I did search it online and there was a website for it... I'm a little frightened by the thought of that. I mean, if it's a play, it might be decent, but a musical... yikes. Any thoughts?

Not thrilled by the idea....sounds like a disaster waiting to happen for me...but who knows? If Shrek can be a musical, why not the Addams Family?

Let's not forget that Bebe Neuwirth is set to play Morticia. That factor alone plus music by Lippa which should be fantastic. If structured and designed properly it will be dynamite!

Anyway, i think the concept has potential, it just depends what they do with it

My cousin just auditioned for Wednesday. She's 18, so I can at least tell you that the Addams children are skewing older.

In the scene, Wednesday was flirting with this kid who wanted to be a playwright, and rehearsing a role from one of his plays. The writer kid was going over the lines with her, and they kissed (for the scene) and then they kissed for real, and I think they were talking about getting married.

I don't really know what was going on, to be honest. The scene was really hard to follow because I couldn't tell what was part of the playwright-kid's play that Wednesday was rehearsing, and what was supposed to be "real" or whatever.

And, yeah, from what I heard, Bebe and Nathan are definitely attached.

All I have to say is that if the play is not based on the first film, they're making a mistake. And if the play does not contain Mamushka, they're making an even bigger mistake.

That being said, there's a play version of the film. I don't know if it's licensed or not, or even if it's just a "bootleg production," but I saw it and was impressed.

Nathan doesn't really look like a gomez either, I can really see Bebe as Morticia though. Who knows maybe Nathan will use this as a chance to branch out as an actor, doubt it though

It really stinks that Raul Julia's dead, it would be amazing for him to be in it.
Raul Julia would have made a fabulous Pirate King also.
