the 3rd national tour is closing ...

on September 9, 2007 in San Diego.

George Hamilton and Brenda Braxton will be with the tour in San Diego.

It's been a great run! Best wishes to the cast and crew.

Ahh. I saw it in October of last year. Great performance!

It will be missed.
Kev

Is it playing now? And who is Roxie, if Michelle is on Broadway? Any idea why Terra isn't finishing out the run?
Linda

Not playing now. It's on summer hiatus.

Basically, they're doing one week in San Diego, and that is it.

I would imagine Michelle DeJean will be Roxie to finish it out since her Broadway run ends Sept 2.
Kev

I should really catch the NY show when the tour is in San Diego. No Brenda!
Kev

bump, per broadway.com

Quote:
Tracy Shayne returns as Roxie Hart beginning September 4.

i was thinking the SAME thing.

while i've been fine with brenda in the past, her performance when i saw Rinna was hands down one of the worst Velma performances I've seen since Tamara Jenkins as Velma

Oh dear. Tracy's coming back?

As per BWW.com yesterday, Hamilton will be reprising his role on Broadway starting september 10th.

And to answer your question, at the moment anyway, Michelle is playing Roxie on broadway.

And Terra is moving to LA to pursue TV and film.

But she's not closing out the tour?
SupremeDiva

Nope. She's in the midst of packing right now and will be heading out to LA within the next week or so.
SupremeDiva

Terra just informed me that she has been invited to close the tour in SD. From there she will go to LA Smile
Linda

It's only right Terra should close out the tour in San Diego.

Agreed. Though I'd never mind seeing her stunning self in NY again.
SupremeDiva

Oh I agree it's right for her to be closing out the tour. At the time this had been initially posted though, they hadn't asked her to.

Just spoke to someone at the box office who insisted that Tracy Shayne would be Roxie starting Tuesday, September 4th, for a week. DeJean is to return after the tour closes, opposite George Hamilton. Also, Hamilton is to make a surprise, unannounced appearance at both shows on Broadway on Saturday, September 1st. Just so you know.

What the heck is going on with Brenda? Is she just going to renew? Her contract ends Sept 2. They haven't announced a renewal yet.

The part about Tracy Shayne was in the recent Playbill article.
I don't know why they don't just let the Roxie understudy split the time like other shows do when someone goes on vacation. Rolling Eyes

The part about George Hamilton wasn't mentioned. I guess he is doing a tune-up on Broadway prior to San Diego. He did a ton of publicity in San Diego recently.

good to know Terra C will be closing the tour and then persuing film and television. anyone know what will become of Carol Woods? i'd love to see her in something different, still my favourite Mama, tho.
Linda

Carol Woods is doing Blues in the Night in San Francisco right now with Maurice Hines, Paulette Ivory, and Freda Payne.
