As much as I love "Follies," there are other shows that I'd prefer to see a forum for... Mainly due to the fact that most of the people who post here are too young to appreciate "Follies" for what it is. I'd rather not see it discussed at all if the only other option is to have kids comparing it to "Rent" or "Wicked."

If lack of a Follies forum is the #1 reason that MdN sucks, then things here are pretty good.
If anything, we ought to have fewer forums because some shows don't have that many people interested in discussing it and sometimes it's confusing to know which general interest forum to use.
I've never seen Follies nor have I heard of a production of it. Is there a film version of it because without that, I'm likely to never see it or at least see it performed well. I've seen two local productions of Sondheim's stuff, Into the Woods and Assassins, and neither were performed well.

Pounce you are an exception. Follies is not only SOndheim's finest show but one of the top 5 greatest shows created. Yet we have forums for poor shows like Wicked or unexceptional ones like CInderella,Jekylland Hyde.
if youi havwent seen Follies I suggest you do..its amazing.

You know that general interest is the most important criterion to justify a forum. Wicked has more posts here than all of Sondheim's stuff combined.

I know Follies and Sweeney are ones you keep saying are the top 5 shows ever written...what are the other three? Also, is this just your opinion or have you gotten this from a professor or author or something?

Of course it is all a matter of opinion. However, some shows are considered by many to be "great". Shows like "My Fair Lady", "Porgy and Bess", "South Pacific", "Carousel", "Gypsy", "West Side Story".
