That's Right...PICTURES!!

My high school just finished our production of PIPPIN (actually not quite...we were just selected to perform it at the Illinois High School Theatre Festival!!) and there are some wonderful pictures!...only of act one, as the photographer ran out of film. http://209.7.8.165/departments/fpa/theatre/pippin/web/index.htm

lol, that looks like such an awesome portrayal. Our stage wasn't nearly as elaborate - we had metal staircases in place of your castle walls, but I love the costumes. They're so awesome...

Your cotumes are great. It looks like it was lots of fun! Very Happy

Wow. Very interesting. I especially like the costumes and makeup. Your Leading Player was a girl, I assume?

Yeah, we used a girl as the leading player, mostly because none of the guys could fulfill the rather intense dance requirements. She took a lot of the Ben Vereen-esque manerisms out to make it less of an homage to Vereen and more of a new more feminine character. It worked very well Very Happy

If my school were to do Pippin, they would most likely do that. Our Stage Manager in Our Town was a girl.

oh my

I saw you guys at theatrefest on Friday at 3:30
I don't know if you saw me, but I was the with the red hair and the blue shirt in the second row (my right, your left)

you guys were fantastic. I have never seen a high school production that had that many talented people. Many, many compliments to you, and everyone.

By the way, who did you play?

Thankyou so much! Very Happy It has made us all so happy that everyone enjoyed our show as much as they did. I was an ensemble member( or "the remaining cry of players" as we are so lovingly refered to in our program"). I was the person wearing the jester hat, and i had rings as a magic trick....I also was a revolutionary(people with the big cloaks)...I was a peasant..(in the sequence with the peasant, poor person, and nobles...and I was one of Catherine's heart boys...and actually at one point (during "Magic To Do") I would have been standing right in front of you, but as I am vision impaired, and I don't wear contacts on stage, I can't really see in great detail. Again, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Pippin

I saw you guys at theaterfest too and you guys did such an amazing job! My school performed Pippin two years ago and I played Lewis and seeing yours brought back a lot of memories. It was also a lot of fun seeing a different group performing it. I really had a blast and our whole school was singing along the whole time. Great Job!

I now can't wait for when I hopefully do the show this summer!

Auditions I think are sometime in March

Ok and why does like every single person have a mic

Geeze your school must be rich...not saying mine isn't but 1) I'm only in middle school but our show is expected to cost about $10,000 this year (BATB) and 2) My director doesn't believe in mics...but he still does give them to some people who need them...

Yeah, our school is pretty darn wealthy. The administration fully funds our productions (especially the musical, as it's usually the highest grosing event of the year.) It cost $12,000 just to take our show to the theatre festival(We were told that what we were carrying was the equivalent of a broadway show tour.) We spent $4000 for costumes alone, around $7,000 on sound. The really big reason we have all those mics, is because although we had a big cast(33), the pit orchestra was larger.(45). Our auditorium seats 870. 800 on the ground level, and 70 in the balcony, and it is very difficult to carry singing that distance when a 40 person orchestra stands between you and your audience. In our straight plays, we never mic. Any actor should be able to project to the back of their space.
