Thank You For The Music

Would "Thank You for the Music" from Mamma Mia be a good audition song? It fits my voice well. I was also wondering if that's a song for an alto, mezzo, or soprano. I'm guessing mezzo soprano, but I don't know the technical stuff.

Thanks in advance if anyone knows.

What show are you auditioning for? If it's not a pop musical, don't do it.

Just in general.

I saw the show recently and I just downloaded it on my iPod, and realized how well it fits my voice.

I would only use it if I were auditioning for (as I said) a pop musical. I would NOT use it for (as a complete RANDOM example) Guys and Dolls. It's the wrong style of music.

Okay. I'm going to put it in an audition binder but label it for pop musicals.

I wouldn't do it.. for an audition song, you really want something that shows you off. That song is .. well, kind of bland.

If you use the bridge, "I feel so lucky, I am the girl with golden hair..." you would have a nice mezzo mixed sound, or the possibility of an impressive high (pop) belt.
