TENOR ROLES

Hi Folks.

A big local company are putting on Titanic next year and the auditons are in July. Just wondering if there are any Tenor roles - the higher the better really.

I have a pretty solid top C - and can also go fairly low.

Hope you can help me!
Salome

Barrett is a tenor. he sings 'Barrett's Song' and 'the duet "The night Was Alive" in addition to some strong solo work in "We'll meet tommorow".

Etches is also a tenor..a good comic role too. he sings "Remarkable Age. and has a few other solo moments.

Salome

not a complete or accurate list. Farryl is more supporting than cameo. and Edgar Beane is as much a lead as Alice Beane. plus it leaves out alot of roles..Astor,Mrs. Astor.Guggenhiem etc..etc...
Joe Valjean

Thanks alot for the reply - no REAL tenors though which is a shame, everything is in Baritone range...

Wonder if there is any scope to add some high notes, ha!
Salome

why would you want ot add notes that werent ewritten? the point of doing a role is to act the hell out of it.
Joe Valjean

Spoken like a true actor!

The point is too sing as high as possible!!!
Joe Valjean

And also because i can!

but its not about that. it doesnt matter if a character has 8 songs or 3 notes. its about the show and the role.

i'm a damned good singer but i never take a role based on how many songs the character sings i take a role based on how strong the role is.
Joe Valjean

This is where we differ then!!!

I take a role mainly on the music and the range and if it will test me - but thats probably why i'm going to go into Opera rather than musical theatre!
Salome

best place for you..Opera doesnt care if the shows are ruined by bad acting..musical theatre is about acting first and foremost.
Joe Valjean

So True!!!

I'm not, nor will i ever be any kind of great actor - but i do enjoy musical theatre and taking part in shows - mainly because of the singing!
