Tell Me On A Sunday 2003 (is this a joke?)

I recently purchased the 2003 "revival" of Tell Me On A Sunday, though I would hardly call it a revival. The music has been tampered with considerably, and the lyrics have been altered in their entirety. As a long-time fan of the Bernadette Peters and Marti Webb recordings, I am immensely disappointed. The essence of the show has been completely lost, the new songs are nothing to write home about, and the only redeeming quality whatsoever is the updated instrumentation (I confess that the old disco arrangements did get a little annoying). But why did the show need to be "reinvented?" I admit that I've only listened to the whole thing once so far, so maybe it will grow on me, but I doubt it.

But anyway, that's my rant. Does anyone enjoy this recording? Do I need to just give it more of a chance? Or are others as frustrated with this rewrite as I am?

I am. S&D is one of my favourite ALW shows. The rewriting of TMOAS is incredibly awful. What's the point of a song about air hosting?
