Telephone Hour set

As we all know, the original Broadway TH set was groundbreaking in its day, but times have changed since then, and with the changing of the times come new ideas. In the production that I'm in, the set isn't as elaborate and most of the Sweet Apple teens are positioned on stage, which is still a good way to do it. Here's the closest thing I could find to the original Gower Champion design: http://nla.gov.au/nla.pic-vn3066824-v

Did anyone else on here stick to this design for the most part for your productions, or did you do something different? If so, explain.

Um, we had the same sort of idea, but the unit was separated boxes. They all had the open side to the floor, though. It wasn't anything special.

oh, I wish we could have done the box thing... we just have a platform, and we put two ladders on the platform and one on the floor; there's a girl on each ladder, a girl on a stool, harvey sitting on the steps of the platform, the rest of the girls downstage right and the rest of the boys downstage left. it actually looks pretty neat, but, eh.

I think the boxes for TH are a classic.
I really don't know if a new idea is needed.
It still completely gets the point that is trying to be conveyed across.
