Ted Neely currently on tour with JC Superstar

Well, I am still reeling a bit from last night...but I saw MY FIRST EVER stage production of JC Superstar in Youngstown OH. And to top that off, I got to see Ted in the role of Jesus.

What an awesome production. The cast is brilliantly superb. Ted is still just as powerful as ever in the role of Jesus. It was literally amazing. Matter of fact, I am hooked on it and I was already a fan since the age of 10 and I own the movie, sountracks to both the movie and play...etc...

But, this was something else. I have never been to a stage production of anything and I think this was the absolute perfect performance to see.

Great job to everyone...there aren't enough words to describe it. But that is not even the kicker.

A small group of fans gathered outside the stage door to wait for the cast to exit and Ted was the last of course. He met with several "VIPs" and then started with those of us die hards out in the rain...he had the staff invite us in.

He was so unbelievably kind and generous with his time, giving each person, couple or group individual attention and it was amazing.

Even when the building staff kicked all of us out, including Ted because of the lateness of the hour and need to lock up, he walked with those of us left to the theater's restraunt, and they opened up to let us all in and he stood there forever talking, signing autographs and taking pictures. But what was so wonderful was the way he really was interested in each person and took such time to talk and touch you. His voice was so calming and quiet, you couldn't help but equate his demeanor with that of the ONE who's role he plays. He really is a quiet and kind and generous man.

I, sadly didn't get as much time with him as the rest of my fellow fans because it was time to lock up and set alarms by the time it was my turn, and I had let everyone just enjoy their visits, taking photos for those who needed them and collecting email addresses and such. I chatted at length with the tour mgr. and the tour bus driver. They were most kind and patient as well. Wonderful people! There were things now that I wish I would have stayed to talk about but I knew Ted and the road crew still there were very tired and I guess I felt selfish keeping him longer even though I waited until last.

I found out that the tour will swing back through Cleveland in December and I plan to take my 7 year old daughter to see it and we will hook up with the tour mgr. and Ted again then and I know I will get my time with him then. My daughter will get a thrill meeting him too.

OH, I guess I could go on and on....and I did....

Did you see the man from LIving Color as Judas?
I did.
Not so good.

My non-theater friends didin't like Ted, but then again, what do they know, they're non-theater kids. And over 5 feet 5 inches tall.

Corey Glover is fantastic in the role.

That's his name?

Well, if it is his name, I disagree.
I was afraid his vocal cords were going to tear apart.
