Taylor - High School Musical - One Act EditionOk, so I have the part of Taylor in HSM. However, I am a very fair skinned, light brown haired, caucasian. The part is written very stereotypically. Any suggestions on how to play the part?

Play the part as yourself. If you have an acting coach, work on him with your lines and ask him how to say them less stereotypically black.

I have no advice, but can you be more specific as to how she's written as a stereotype?
Even if you just typed excerpts from the script...I'm curious.

For my cast, we were double cast...one Taylor was fair skinned, the other was not. They said their lines pretty much the same Just follow the character, do as she would do. Thats what acting is all about, pretending to be someone you're not.
