Taye Diggs in the Movie?Being African American, could he have been doing what he was doing in the movie back in the 1920's? Just a random question I have...

Being a second-second-second rate jazz club announcer? It's practically the only thing he could have been doing back then.
Velma's club is not Carnegie hall. Roxie only imagines his voice in the swankier scenes in her head because the scene of Velma's club is imprinted in her memory so distinctly.

i think queen latifa's part is less realistic. i mean, a black woman as a wardon - being black AND a woman in the 1920s and having that sort of authority in a position?
but, many mama's are black women and not to sound racist, but they portray the part much better than any white woman i've seen or heard.
