Tap?i think I'm doing the show next year, and plan on taking dance to get a good part. Does Bert Healey have to tap? what about Rooster? what kind of dance should I take for Annie?

typically no one in the show taps.
bert healy, because he is on the radio, has a sound effects guy tapping shoes on a table as he stands there.
our four featured dancers (females) tapped in NYC as 1930's era rockettes.
we added an extended dance break that doubled the length of the song.
(we also added dance breaks in "Like it Here" and the orphan's "Never Fully Dressed", but no tap)
really it's just basic golden-age stuff.
a little jazz here and there. (rooster mostly.)

I've seen productions where the sound guy actually taps, as in, not on the table, on the floor, but that's it.
