SWEENEY TODD AUDITION!!

So, I have an audition for Sweeney Todd coming up soon, and realistically the two roles i could play are Tobias and Anthony. I really would like to play Tobias, as it would be better for my age and also depends on how old the rest of the cast is, but Anthony may be cast older than myself. I am 18 years old and a tenor (range: low bass D to a high A flat ). For my audition I need a song and a monologues.

Song Ideas:
Giants In The Sky - Into The Woods
Good Thing Going - Merrily We Roll Along
She Loves Me - She Loves Me
Love I Hear - Forum

NO IDEA what to do for a monologue. I have monologues I've used for audition in past, but they don't really suit the character. Any suggestions would be sooo greatly appreciated.

THANKS!

I'd say Giants in the Sky, but that may just be because I don't really know Merrily We Roll Along. But I think it is important to do Sondheim when auditioning for Sondheim just because his style is so distinctive and it is good to show that you can handle it. And I think Forum is a little too blatantly comedic for something like ST. However you know what fits your voice best.

I'm not sure If I can help you in terms of auditions though...Tobias is tough to pinpoint what you need.

I totally agree, Giants in the Sky is your best bet. Nkot only is it the same style, but Jack is very similar character-wise to Toby.
