Where in Sweden is this playing, and what are the dates?

CATs sweden

The show will premiere here in Gothenburgh (Göteborg in swedish) and will be starting 9th of September 2006. The show is in Swedish - PROBABLY not subtext in it, but they might do that at some point.

The Opera house can be found on http://www.opera.se and the site is in Swedish but I DO think they have a english section as well.

Fun info: ONE elchapo bad seat under the roof costs 95 kronor - a ticket to the cinema costs about the same price. I WONDER what my choice will be during the winter. Heheheeh...

Rock On, be interesting to see pictures of the new characters! Certainly a very big cast, bound to look fab aesthetically.

Hmm.

I was hoping it was opening sooner, a friend of mine is leaving for an internship in Zurich this week but first she's doing a bit of sightseeing. First stop is Sweden. She'll be back in the US by the time it opens. Sad

Hmmm, it is confusing; they have no real Jemima or Sillabub, or George or Skimble, yet they have all these new Cats... strange!
Nemi

It's not *so* strange, really.

It's not that they don't have a real Sillabub, George, or Bill Bailey... it's that they don't have a real Rumpleteazer, Skimbleshanks, or Mungojerrie. It's sort of how Quaxo is Quaxo for the whole show except one, when he's Mistoffelees, or Admetus is Admetus for the whol show except when he's Macavity. Mungojerrie, Skimbleshanks, and Rumpleteazer were all 'doubled' by other characters in OBC...

I love the new names, though... 'specially Shakespeare.

This production promises to be really interesting ! I can't wait to see pictures and get more infos about the new characters.

I can't believe Niklas Andersson is Munk.
I have fond memories of him (no pun intended).
He used to make me laugh and when he would talk to me in Swedish just to see me with a blank look. Priceless.

Thats it, i'm gonna be heading to Sweden soon Very Happy
For definite Smile

Going to Gothenburgh CATS this autumn?

For flights from the London area: Try Ryanair, or Scandinavian Airlines or British Airlines or Fly Me. Ryanair and Flyme operates with flights from Stanstead. The others from Heathrow or Gatwick. BMI flies from Manchester and I think Sterling does as well. Double check online.

From Germany we have several good flights, including RyanAir from Frankfurt to City Airport - the City Airport is the 2nd one, the larger one is Landvetter International (Flight code GOT for that one!). Out of Eurpoe visitors will probably arrive from there. Both airports operates shuttles and taxi cabs - taxis are expensive and buses are about 60 - 100 kronor - maximum 10 pounds or 10 euro).

From Norway and Denmark I recommend trains as they will stop almost on the doorstep of the hotels and Downtown Gothenburgh!

Staying in Gothenburgh: We have a large number of FINE hotels right downtown and no less then ten minutes easy stroll to the opera house. And YES YES YES, we do speak english almost everywhere! If you call to make reservations they'll chat away instantly:

Hotell Opera has soem deals with RyanAir!!!
http://www.hotelopera.se/index_en.shtml

Hotell Eggers, have sub-site sin english ofcourse!
http://www.hoteleggers.se/engelska/indexeng.htm

Hotel Robinson is also wall to wall with the rest of them!
http://www.hotelrobinson.se/infoeng.htm

In gothenburgh you have lots of trams that'll take you everywhere, but most of the entertainemnt, theatres etc is loacted right in the center of town so it's walking distance and very easy to get around. We're not named "Little London" for nothing. *grins* We're also a bit of a shopping mekka so you'll have lots of fun with various shops and specialty places!

Oh, and then there is me ofcourse - a whole tourist attraction in itself eh?. *grins*

CATS tickets are bought via: http://www.opera.se and yes, they do bookings over phone or via the web. I HIGHLY recommend on the sides of the balcony or downstairs from row 5 and back. There are plenty of pictures of the opera house on their website.

The Stagedoor is VERY roomy and have seats and sofas to sit in. Probably one of the BEST stagedoor areas I have ever seen!
