Sunday in the Park with George FORUM CAST 2008Sunday in the Park with George FORUM CAST 2008.
The auditions will go from June 28, 2008 to July 18, 2008
Then, the voting will be held from July 19, 2008 to July 30, 2008.
If you vote before or after the time of voting, then your votes will not be counted.
I will post the results soon after voting ends. I'm not quite sure of the date because counting up and organizing votes takes a lot of time.
*Disclaimer*
This is NOT a real cast. We will not be performing this on any stage or recording or anything like that. So don't get your feelings hurt if you don't get cast for the part that you wanted. The only reward for this is bragging rights. No money is involved.
Rules for Participating:
AUDITIONING:
1. In order to not have any misunderstandings with the auditioning, you MUST post what you're auditioning a few sentences why you want to get that role. Pictures aren't required, but are encouraged.
2. You can audition for more than one character.
3. No cross-gender auditioning. If you're a guy, don't audition for Dot/Marie. You won't be taken seriously.
4. Also, please if you are auditioning, don't do it sarcastically or jokingly. It might confuse the voters.
VOTING:
1. You CANNOT vote for yourself.
2. Please vote for all characters, not just one or two people.
3. All votes MUST be sent in by e-mail to sitpwg.forumcast.votes@gmail.com, otherwise they won't be counted.
4. Please vote for only one person per character.
CASTING:
Obviously, the person with the most votes will win each character.
-If multiple people tie for a character, depending on who has votes for other characters, I will draw from a hat for the winner and and then draw again for the Understudy, or if there is only one person, they will get the understudy.
-If a person has the most votes for multiple characters, I will draw for the character that they get and then take the runner up for the other characters and give them the character, etc. depending on how many votes people get.
Possible not everyone will be cast. So if you're not, don't get your feelings hurt.
Understudies will be the runners up for the roles.
BANNERS:
Please do make them. They are good for bragging. If you need one made, I won't be making them this round, but Rachel (SuperKabob) will probably make one for you if you ask politely. Please try to keep them around the 100px x 400px guideline.
Everyone, have fun doing this, don't get serious, don't get mean. Just have fun. That's all this thread is here for.

Why I deserve these characters:
Well, it's because I like AM all of these characters all bundled up into one and I think I would be perfect for these roles. I think I should make a one man show -- well 2 man. One man one woman and we could so pull it off because we'd BE these characters. All of them.
With that in mind, vote for me because I like all of these roles, but particularly George.

Why I deserve these characters: I'm a HUGE SitPwG fan. I absolutely adore the orchestrations and every single character. I guess I might be slightly too young for Dot/Marie, but it's worth a shot, I suppose. Especially since it's my goal in life to play the role(s). I feel so connected to Dot, because I know what its like to struggle with your art form, whatever it may be. Dot has issues with concentration and being in the moment; I often feel like I look too far ahead, as well. The emotional depth she experiences in Color and Light, We Do Not Belong Together, and Move On is something I completely identify with. In addition, I've had experience as an actress with both character and dramatic roles.
I think I deserve these roles because I really feel like I could delve into the characters, not just Dot/Marie, but the Celestes and Elaine as well. When it comes to the Celestes, I can be a total goof. I definitely feel like I could pull off all of these roles.

Why I deserve this character: SitPwG is my favorite musical. I'm a fairly brooding sort of fellow who has trouble defining himself outside of his work. My life is a constant battle between my art and everything else. And, unfortunately, my art usually wins. I say very little usually, but what I do say is very carefully thought out and precise.

Why I deserve these characters...Acting is the one passion I have in life, and as a devout Sondheim fan, I would consider it an honor to play a lovely Sondheim character, whoever she may be. Why: SiTPwG is a brilliant show and it would really be an honor just to be a part of it. Ever since I saw the DVD with Bernadette Peters and Mandy Patinkin, I've wanted to be one of the Celestes, especially Celeste #1/Elaine for reasons I can't really explain. And who doesn't love a little gossip? The Celestes seem like such a great role and I'd have so much fun with either of them. The orchestrations in this show are just astounding and the songs are so touching. I love this musical so much, I can't put it into words without sounding really cliche.

Why do you assume I did a stunt audition. You guys are so silly. That was a real audition. Just because I threw some humor into it by putting Mandy Patinkin's picture instead of mine, doesn't mean it was a stunt audition. I'm pretty sure you ALL know what I REALLY look like.
You forum cast people who take this shit seriously make me laugh. And I'm sick of the holier than thou attitude you get when you're involved.

In Trevor's defense, I thought he was just trying to get a few laughs in his "Why" response. Y'know, channel the main character in his audition, maybe even make people think "Wow, he's REALLY into Georges, maybe we should vote for him?". I thought the picture of Mandy might've been a little much... but it did make me giggle ^^;;

And she really gets a pretty rotten deal, she can't pull george away from his heart no matter how much she tries. And she has his baby so even after she moves to america she has a little piece of him always with her, which can be a good or bad thing I guess
And I love the Celestes, they're so funny. They just seem like they'd be a lot of fun to play.

Why I deserve these characters:
I hate writing these because I feel like i'm just bragging, but here we go!
Dot is a very passionate, serious character, but needs to be played by someone who can brighten up the stage with a sense of humor, like myself. My voice is around a mezzo range which doesn't hurt . I can relate to dot in many ways on a personal level, which would help me embrace the character to the fullest.
One of my qualities that is helpful in auditioning and performances is my charisma, and sense of humor. I feel like a Celeste would be right up my ally on this note : )
At my most recent recital I sang "Beautiful" from the show with a friend of mine and recieved many compliments about how moving and heartfelt it was. Although I am not old by any means (I'm 19) I think I could play the Old Lady very well.
I would also like to be considered for Yvonne if not considered for the above roles.

I think she's refering to roles where there is only one person auditioning and if you happen to be that person, then you cannot vote for yourself, even if you are the only auditionee(auditioner?).
