So, I got permission... here we go.

I’m going to be running a forum cast of the new starlight express.
If you don’t know what one is, basically you nominate yourself for a role, fill out the “audition” and post it in this thread. Then people vote, send their votes to me via PM. Then votes are counted and a cast list posted.

You’ve got two and a bit weeks to audition, the deadline being 13th July.
Votes can be sent anytime from then till 20th July. If they’re later than that... you’re too late. The cast list should be put up within the week.


Rulebook

1. Don’t moan about characters from the original not being included.

2. Voting for yourself is ok. Just don’t overdo it and vote for yourself as every character.

3. If you’re going to vote, vote for as many characters as possible, via PM. Please try to vote, especially if you take part in auditioning. And please, please think about who you vote for, no choosing names simply to fill up your vote list. If you are completely at a loss as to who to vote for, simply exclude that role from your list.

4. You can only receive one role (not including understudying a role)

5. If you audition for more that one role then please put them in order of preference in case of coming first for more than one, in that case you will receive your first preference. The other roles will be given to the runner up

6. In the event of a tie, the winner will be picked at random.

7. The first runner up will be understudy.

8. If someone receives no role, they will be either in the chorus, or (providing there are any roles no-one has auditioned for) put in an unfilled role.

9. Same gender where possible.

10. Keep your banners to the standard size, there’s an abundance of pictures of starlight express out there, promising for some snazzy banners which we don’t want to be deleted for being to large.

I personally think characters should be based off London and not the UK tour as London was far better and I'm sure people who have seen both would agree with me.

Therefore, I think characters such as Krupp, Bobo, Espresso etc should be included and Hip Hoppers should be Rockies.

Why this character appeals to me:
I don't honestly know what draws me to these characters. I love the insanity of Caboose, and the diva-ness of Electra. And Nintendo? I just love Japan, as a culture.

1) I'm abit nuts. I'm not very stable in my decision-making. I have a non-existant attention span.
2) I love glam and specticle. I can throw fits if I get angry, and... I do need minders every now and then.
3) I know a smatering of Japanese.

Why this character appeals to me: He is so cool and totaly reminds me of me. He's the little one with big hopes and dreams. He wants to win and over takes the "better" trains. And, he does win. He also gets the girl. Which is cool. Plus he get's to sing the title song, which I love.
Things in common between you and this character: He's the little nerdy one with big hopes and dreams and then gets them! He also listens to advice. He also gets the girl at the end, which has happened to me.

The accent, you have to love the accent
other than my liking for odd accents, I love U.N.C.O.U.P.L.E.D great solo. love it. I like her little storyline too, getting ditched and all (darn that pearl stealing her man *ahem*.. train) she gets overshadowed by pearl. But i reckon she's miint =D with two i's because thats better.
Her costume is rather cool too, not sure it would look quite so great on me but hey, this isnt REAL show so theres no worries about people running from the theatre at the sight of me in such a small skirt. Plus i love the fact she gets what she wants in the end. the sweet little "s.o.r.r.r.y" from greaseball. awwwhhhs.

Why this character appeals to me: Ok...Im always one to look up to people who actually when they need help ask for it, and when they get advice, they take it! Hes a Nerd...which is also appealing because, he can be nerdy and still end up getting the girl!
Things in common between you and this character: Im a BIG nerd...mostly about musical theatre, but hey, its still nerdy! I take advice very often, and I also take constructive criticism well! Im a good guy who just wants to get by and go on to live and explore my dreams. I have many hopes too, and one of them is to get the girl. Which inevitably hasnt happened yet, but Rusty doesnt get her 'til the end...and maybe my ending isnt here yet, but I know Ill get the girl!

i tend to offer advice to my mates (including you guys!) but i'm not very good at helping people with their relationships but i can be diplomatic.

Why this character appeals to me:
1) She provides comic relief to the show which I love! Her solo has got to be one of the best parodies out there! She's blonde, ditzy and a load of fun! Dinah's a character you can easily fall in love with as she is so sweet and innocent! Her London costume was also pretty awesome too!
2) I think Ashley would be such a fun character to play! I love her laid back attitude and how the racing is taken way to seriously for her! She sings in Girls Rolling Stock which is one of the best songs in the show!
Things in common between you and this character:
1) We're both very blonde and ditzy! Dinah takes things like racing and switching/hitching way too seriously and I know I take certain things to seriously as well! She's a very bubbily character and I'd like to think I am also very happy-go-lucky. But she also has perhaps a meaner side, as she races with Electra to get back at Greaseball, and myself like many other people, also have that mean streak in me.
2) We're both laid back most of the time and content with the way things are going! And at my prom, someone commented that I looked like Ashley due to my hairstyle! I might post a picture later!

They actually had her as part of the Bochum production - had the costume etc., but just couldn't find someone to play her. She was a brilliant counterpart to Poppa... the Senior Female... but that made the show more complicated so she had to go. Sadly.

Belle_Pullman has sung Belle's song at the Bochum Open Day before now - she did it beautifully, but very few people realised who she was supposed to be.
