Spring Musical is ITWIt was just announced today that the spring musical for my school this year is going to be ITW! I'm so excited because I think that this is a great show! My question is, what could I be cast as?
I'm a female, 5'4", a junior, and my forte is singing (I'm a mezzo) and dancing (ballet is my main focus there, but I can do other forms). My acting skills are OK, but definitely nothing special.
The auditions won't be until at least December, but if it's like they usually are, they won't even be until the beginning of January, after our Christmas break, but I want to get a head start on preparing.
Thanks!

well. definately work on your acting. Its definetely more acting heavy than dancing. It would help to know the songs early.

There is hardly any dancing in Into the Woods...so that won't be anything to worry about at all. The acting, though, is the most important part of the show. Some of the roles are very very difficult, in particular the Baker's Wife. If you don't think you can go for the Baker's Wife then the next best role, imo, is the Witch...however both of these roles will probably go to a senior if they can...other mezzo roles that are good would be Little Red Riding Hood, The Step Sisters and Step Mother, and Jack's Mother. =)

Not much dancing?
CRAP!
Dancing and singing are the two things that save me. I'm really not that good at acting.

I thought Jack's mother was a soprano?
