Spring Awakening!Hello there! First post very excited!
I was wondering I'm going to the Spring Awakening auditions, was convinced by friends and family, but I'm only 15.
I don't think I will actually get the the part but I have been told by people that if they *really* wanted me to play a part they wouldn't care if I was one yesr younger seeing as I will be 16 two weeks before the first preview.
I was just wondering if you think I should go through with it??
Thanks!!
p.s sorry for the huge post!

Honestly - age barriers are there for legal reasons so yes, they would care that you were not 16. You wouldn't be allowed to do 8 shows a week legally. They would be breaking the law. Because they would have to sign you before rehearsals, so before you are 16.

Females only have to be 16 in the uk to play Wendla. All others can be 15. But the boys have to be 16 to play all the roles except Moritz.

At my original audition, a girl next to me was 15 and got turned away before she could even sing. Dunno if that's typical, but...JIJane is correct. They don't say 16 just for fun. Give it a try if you really want to, but be aware you might get typed out.

Were they typing then? I was 15 and I'm a boy and got seen, but eventually couldn't attend the final callback because I wasn't 17. So basically the rule is boys and wendla=17, everything else is fair game.
