South Pacific AuditionsWell, I heard about some South Pacific auditions in October, and I'm auditioning for the part of Jerome. I'm wondering what song to sing. I don't have any info yet, but I'm going to see if I can find out some stuff.

You should definitely do a song that is sung in French. Or something from The King and I.

How old are you? The kids are usually quite young - in the production I was in, Jerome wasn't old enough to read well - he had to learn his lines by rote.
I agree that a song in French would be your best bet - if the two kids are not convincingly French speaking, that part of the plot really doesn't make much sense.

A couple of girls in our production of Annie had to do that... I had to help them. They learned quickly, though. The kids in the Charlie Brown movies learned their lines the same way.
