Is "This Lovely, Lonely Man" in the Broadway version? I remember it being a really effective ballad in the movie.

no it's not. i think they thought it was in an odd place for Trully to sing it and it also was a bit out of chracter for her. but i really liked it!

Whoa, I can't believe they cut it from the stage show. That was one of the very best songs in the movie (that and "Hushabye Mountain").

For the stage show, from what i understand, they made it closer to the book and in the book(supposably)Trully wouldn't sing something like that.

Well I don't think that can be true. In the book potts is still married to the childrens mother, and the character of "trully" does not even exist. Vugaria does not exist. There is no sub plot about captive children, no barron or barroness. In fact apart from potts, jeremy, jermima, the fact that the car flies, and is a converted racing car. the book bares no resemblance to the film or show.

In fact here is a link that contains a plot summary for the book.

As far as i can see. The only thing added to the show from the original book is the name of the racing car.

I think just because they wanted to add a love story to it. So they made potts a single father.
