Song Discussion: "The House of Marcus Lycus"

Inexplicably, this hilarious song was omitted from the OBC, so I went on iTunes to look for it and could only find a live version (presumably from some Sondheim revue) sung by George Hearn; does anybody know where this particular performance came from? Anyway, this has got to the funniest Sondheim song, IMO and I wanted to see if anybody else loves it as much as I do.

Bump; I'm really curious to see if anyone knows where the George Hearn version comes from.

If I recall correctly, it was written for the original production, but never used. The 1996 (?) revival production with Nathan Lane included it. It was hilarious! The revival cast album is available, at least on cassette.

I figured it out on my own; "A Stephen Sondheim Evening", 1983. You can buy the whole album off iTunes for $9.99, just FYI.

in college we used the full version that Hearn sings in the live concert.

the short version was sung by John Carradine in the original production but not recorded.
