Song Discussion: "Sensitivity"

This is proably my least favorite OUAM song. I think it's mainly the melody that bothers me the most. Even with the words in front of me, I can never seem to follow the melody. The lyrics are good, but the music seems like it's all over the place. What are everyone else's toughts on "Sensitivity"?
Brock07

I actually really like it. It is very tricky with its melody and all, but that may be why I like it. I really shows alot of the queen's character.

If being sensitive makes you royal, then start bowing to me, because god knows I am highly and horrible sensitive with allergies and induced hives. Wink

It's not my favorite song, but it's really easy to sing. It does show off the Queen, but there's really not much to say about that song in my opinion.
Destined4TheStage

haha while it may not be my favorite song in the entire show
sensitivity is pretty good.
my least favorite song in the show is the swamps of home.. personally lol

The worst song in the show is "Quiet" most definitely.

I dislike "Very Soft Shoes" even more in the context of the show. It comes out of no where and does little (and does it too late) to develop the character of the Jester. While it's a really neat song, and I do enjoy it when it stands alone, almost every person who saw the version I was in said "I really liked that Jester song and dance, but it was kinda like 'where did that come from?'" It just doesn't fit in with the show.
Brock07

Agreed...it totally disrupts the flow of much more important events then the fact that the jester is depressed.
PappyCat

And since the Jester has had barely any character development at this point it's kinda like "Why does he have his own song?"

I'm assuming it was added because of the whole each actor wanting to have equal ammounts of stage time thing when it was being developed.

I'll agree that Soft Shoes is very much so out of place, but it's still a favorite of mine. And I love the dance. I feel very lucky to be in that number.

More than likely.

I hate it even more because I hate the guy that plays our Jester and am not liking his character choices at all.

"Sensitivity" is a great song. It highlights the Queen very well and can be hilarious if she does it well. I've never seen anyone have trouble with it, but I imagine that what might throw you is the meter (5/4), not actually the melody.

"Very Soft Shoes" is a great dance number but is too much of a non-sequiter. "Swamps of Home" is just a drag. You know it's a bad song when even Carol Burnett's rendition is boring.
PappyCat

I loved doing Swamps of home...I had a lot of people tell me they really liked my rendition of it (and unprompted, I didn't ask them they just said they liked that song.)

I think the OBCR and the Revival versions are boring because it's not that exciting of a song unless acted out.

Same with Man to Man talk. I cannot stand listening to it, but I love to watch our King and Dauntless do that scene because our King is hilarious.
