Mimi the Feather Duster! Does anybody know who she is? I'm assuming she's part of Babette's posse and Im assuming that she gets to tango during the Lumiere/Babette tango, but do you know anything else about her? Please help.

By the by, I am really really really upset that I didn't get cast as Belle. I was the runner up. So I guess that if the eeeevil girl who got Belle gets hit by a bus anytime soon, I get to play Belle. But that's highly unlikely. The girl who got Belle has a reallllly great voice but I KNOW I can act better than she can.

Anyway, can anybody tell me who Mimi is ASAP?

There is no part of Mimi in the orginal Broadway show or any other Beauty and the beast show that I have ever heard of. Maybe your director decided to give the enchanted objects names?

Its quite possible that she wrote in my character, and I dont think that she just gave all the enchanted objects names. Are you sure there is no Mimi? What about a Fifi? I know Fifi is what they ((shudder)) renamed Babette in the Christmas Beauty and the Beast story, but is there an actual character named after her?

Nope, in the musical Babette is the only featherduster Ive heard of. Fifi was actually Babette's name in the orginal movie too. Thank god they changed it.

Just to clarify, Babette's name was NOT the F name in the original film. She is credited as - how original - Featherduster in BatB. She was named Babette by the great Linda Woolverton in the show, hence the canon, and is credited as Babette on every bit of merchandise since. The moron writers of Belle's Magical World screwed up. Learn this lesson, kiddies, this is what happens when you don't learn to do research in school.

And now that I look like a total geek... =)

But yeah, defiinately sounds like your director decided to name a few more objects, which is pretty neat! Congrats!

Well i talked to my director and this is what she said:
Mimi and Fifi are kind of Babette's posse. They WERE in the script that we have, and originally they opted not to have mimi and fifi in our show at all. However, they cast Me and my friend Liz as Mimi and Fifi (respectively) because we did so well at our Babette auddie.

Mimi and Fifi will have some lines, whether they are written for them or if we are re-arranging some of Babette's line, we don't know.

Our costumes will be slightly different from Babette's. She will have an apron and we won't, or vice versa.

All three of the feather dusters (Mimi Fifi and Babette) will ALL get to tango with Lumiere.

Other than that we dont know, but our director says shes going to think up some really cute/awesome things for us to do.

Very nice! Congrats. Sounds like fun! Beauty and the Beast was my favorite show that I was in and is easily an obsession. Let me know how it goes!!

I don't remember there being a Mimi and Fifi at all...

Im not sure what script we're using.....we haven't done a read through yet. But I'll let you guys know. I think that they are pretty much optional characters to do with what you will. So im sure a lot of directors chose to NOT put them in so to get a larger chorus.

thanks. I know, for some reason NO ONE has ever heard of her, which is making me a little wary...however LumBabsFan should be pleased that Mimi is actually a protegee of our beloved Babette. So thats cool.

I am just a little wary, hun. I know the show back and forth, seen it...a number of times before it went "into the vault". The only feathery gal was our Babs. But if these new characters are in yours, do it to your best ability with a big smile. =)

Yeah, I'm a little wary too. I've seen the show, and seen PARTS of the show on videos and such...I dont remember Mimi and Fifi. But, hey, I get to make this character my own. So that'll be fun. I'll post pics once we get our costumes and such to let you guys see what Mim and Fif look like. ((We're either going to be redhead twins or blonde twins. If we're redhead twins I wont have to wear a wig because I have naturally red hair, but I'd be excited to be blonde!))
