So excited!

I know there are a lot of people in Anything Goes on here currently, so I was just wondering about how you guys felt the play was. I for one am absolutely falling in love with it. I was a little upset I didn't get Reno and got Hope instead, but now I love my role. I'm starting to really get her. We just choreographed Delovely yesterday and it's so cool. I don't consider myself much of a dancer, but this actually made me feel like I was okay at dancing. It's going to look really cool. We're doing the 87 version and during the big dance break we're doing the tango. It's so much fun! I usually have to dance with guys how don't know how to lead, but Billy in our play leads really well, so it was fun to dance with him.

I'm just really excited as you can tell!

I personally love the show!

It's so cool to have someone else experiencing the same thing as me. This may end up being my favorite role ever. When is your play? Mine is on May 2 and 3. I wish we did more than two shows, but alas, my high school is stupid. Razz

our show is on March 14th,15th,16th ,and, if you include the Senior Citizen show, 13th. I'm the Evelyn to Dontdosadness's Hope. And I agree this show is AMAZING!

We just finished our production this past weekend...it went by so fast! I played Hope as well (1960's version) and I didn't think she seemed all that fun at first too. But I really had a blast with her and I was surprised that a lot of people liked my character. I think it's all in what you do with her. Our first two audiences were especially really responsive. This was a really fun show to be in!

I loved playinmg Hope too.

and anything with a Cole Porter score is just Heaven to be in.

I really enjoyed playing Hope, and really loved the music for this show. I also am a rather weak dancer, but had a blast learning all the stuff for Anything Goes.

I've always really wanted to do "Kiss Me Kate", but we never had the guys for it....

Cole Porter = awesome

I'm dying to do Can-Can, Out of this World and High Society.

My husband (who sometimes directs our musicals) has looked at High Society. I love "I Love Paris" from Can-Can.

Cole Porter is so under valued these days, and so many kids don't even know his work....

"Anything Goes" is such a wonderful show. I played Erma and had a blast. Our Hope really had fun with the character and proved that the ingenue doesn't have to be a boring role at all!

Yay Anything Goes! Yay Cole Porter!

I wish I could be in some of his other work. The college summer stock here is doing Kiss Me, Kate...but you have to have a year of college training to audition. Boo.

Anyway, now that the thread is hi-jacked...sort of...

Hope is a wonderful role, and like NYCbound said, can be so much more than the "typical" ingenue. She spent hours in the back of a taxi, remember? Wink

Break a leg to everyone who has an upcoming performance! Also remember to take pictures to show us Smile

So yeah...I'm still really excited about this play, but I fought with "Billy" the other night, so now things aren't so great between us. He knew I disliked him, but we clashed the other night and now it's really strange. Oh well....we have two and a half months to make it work. Razz
