So a job I'm getting possibly...In "Reviewing The Situation", what was Fagin's reason for not wanting to get a real job (I'm referring to the third verse)?

I think it was because he didn't want a boss. But I'm not sure.

he is a crime lord for god's sake...can you see any crime lord reporting to a day job?
plus this was early victorian london..no one would hire a jew from the west end for anything. which is why many poor jews were forced into jobs or crime or money lending.
