Smut SiteOk, I realise this is going to raise some eyebrows and it's probably a very bad idea to talk about, but still...
A CATS site entirely dedicated to hosting stories that are R and above for either violence or sex, and art that ranges from mildly suggestive to graphic.
In your opinion, should it not exist?
I ask this because I've come across a site of that description, and I'm not sure what my opinion should be. At first glance it seems like a very well thought out place, but I can't help but think that the CATS fandom may not be ready for something like that.
(The link is not posted in this thread because this is a forum that has no age restrictions. I wouldn't feel right putting in a link somewhere I knew could be accessed by persons underage.)

For all Cats has a large teen fanbase, I don't see anything particularly wrong with it as long as they have a clear warning on the front page(and preferably a small warning at the bottom or top of their other pages as well, though I think those're pretty useless). It's weird to imagine Cats stories with major sexual themes, to be sure--considering the bestiality overtones such stories imply--but if they're not going around posting their link on sites run by youngsters I don't see a problem.
You have to expect these things with a sizeable and fairly broad fanbase. Harry Potter's fans are mostly eighteen or younger, but there are still sites with weird, weird fics. I know of one that's devoted to Snape-Hermione pairing fanfics with some seriously graphic stuff on it. Their fanbase is simply big enough to support that sort of thing. The Cats fanbase doesn't inspire such devotion among older teens and young adults, so I'm betting the site you spoke of has relatively low traffic.

There’s always been fanfic and art like that. While I’ve never seen a site dedicated specifically to rated R and above, it’s not something that is new. I’ve been a fan since I was 15, and every once in awhile I’d come across something like that, with no restrictions, or blocks. Unfortunately, it is very easy for minors to see something they shouldn’t see on the internet. I would only hope that the site has some kind of way to at least attempt to keep underage people from viewing, but it’s something that’s been happening since the net was born. This one person didn’t create the problem.
I don’t think the site should be shut down, because everyone has the right to free speech. If you and I, or anyone else disagrees with it, they shouldn’t read it. I don’t think it’s up to us to try and get the site taken down.
To be perfectly honest, I did write a fic a few years back which may have fit into the category that you described (which I'm sure other forum members may have done), but I never submitted it to any CATS fansites because I didn't want it to be easily accessed by just anyone.

R Rated FanfictionSome interesting concepts...
Many fanfiction writers of CATS consider the Jellicle to be felinoid, or a cat-like humanoid. Here, the writers/artists are merely taking the performer and instilling their features into the character. Therefore, the Jellicle in the story or in the illustration has human-like features, and could indulge in human sexuality... The comment concerning bestiality is an excellent description of some of the added spice to such an R or NC17 rated work. Take human sexuality and add the usage of a slightly prehensile tail... Also add pheromones and the Jellicle sense of smell... The tailbone is erotic on a human being, so add the actual tail - ever notice what happens when you scratch a cat at the tail root? Hey! We humans have been very inventive over the centuries, so I am certain Jellicles would have experimented with the same... exuberancy...
At one point, I belonged to a group who wrote erotic CATS fanfiction and drew erotic artwork. That site had a disclaimer to warn people entering that it contained sexual content and required a password. We never received a complaint because of that... As long as there is some attempt to make entry a bit difficult for the casual web-surfer, any such website should be allowed. (NOTE: certain servers may not allow such websites).

Personally, I think that sort of R-rated stuff ruins the beauty of CATS. But hey, that's only my opinion.

I believe that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and that you should simply employ a policiy of "if it aint my thing, I wont even go look".
That way everyone retains their own perception of beauty, and there are a lot less bitch-fights over whose opinion is the right one. *bows*
