slight incest?

anyone ever think about this..

baker's wife is married to baker
baker's sister is rapunzel
rapunzel marries her prince
rapunzel's prince's brother is cinderella's prince
cinderella's prince & baker's wife get it on

a little too closely related for me Smile

No... closely related would be the baker and Rapunzel OR the baker's wife and Rapunzel. The baker's wife and Cindy's prince are five degrees apart as you displayed.

I made up a chart once... if you go with the theory that the Mysterious Man is also Jack's father and the idea of Jack marrying Little Red eventually, everyone in the show is related except for the Witch (unless you count adoption), the Steward, and the Wolf.

Not that close! If it was maybe two degrees of seperation, then maybe.

Welcome to the borad!

So I'm NOT the only person who read into the Mysterious Man's character like that! Yay!

The only clue that I can tell is that the mysterious man knows Jack's name and Jack's father disappeared but other than those, nothing in the show suggests it. If it were so, you'd think it would be explicitly revealed as it was for the Baker.

I personally don't like the theory much... but if you follow it, yeah almost everyone's related.

Another Clue

There is another clue in the script that suggests MM is also Jack's father. When MM convinces the Steward to give Baker and Wife one of the slippers, and Jack's Mother bursts in on the scene, the script contains a specific note that MM takes one look at Jack's Mother and then hides.

Part of the art of this show, are the many delicious ambiguities that exist, just as in any good mythology, like Grimm's Fairy Tales.

I am currently playing Narrator/Mysterious Man with Reading Civic Theatre in Reading, Pennsylvania, and LOVING it.
