One set, or one setting?
I'm not sure how BATB could be considered one SET, since the story takes place in a town, a tavern, a castle( bedroom, library, ballroom, etc)... there may be one main set but there has to be something else in front of it sometimes.
Anyways...
Swingtime Canteen
The Wild Party (? not sure since I've never seen it, but based on the story, music and clips on YouTube... it all takes place in Queenie and Burrs' apartment)
the Nunsense musicals
A Chorus Line

Quique

Doesn't Something Happened On the Way to the Forum use one set/setting?

Snoopy & YAGMCB both have one set (with the actors moving certain things like the blocks or the psychiatric help booth on)

We should probably establish how literal "set" is supposed to be here. I took it to mean shows like Fantasticks and La Mancha. Those are shows written to use one set. The other possibility - using the same unit set to represent the many different locations the show calls for - is a design choice, not a category of shows. You could apply that to almost any musical, so I don't see much of a point making a list for that interpretation.

I've saw Boogie Nights be done with one min set (the disco) and then three or so trucks to represent the other scenes. It's a pretty weak book but it's one of the most fun shows ever. I've also saw it done with an eleborate set.
How about Spring Awakening? A main set and then a few trucks or set pieces moved about?
Many production of High School Musical have one set with a locker area one side, a blackboard the other side, a basketball hoop somewhere and then desks, chairs, etc are moved about.

Also, The Will Rogers Follies. Everyting takes place on a giant staircase.

epic love for boogie nights
we did that with the same idea of disco as main set and trucks, which was the national touring set, what do the more elaborate ones do?
Return to the forbidden planet is a good one

Erm, we used the full west end set (possibly the same as the touring set???) from QDOS. We had the two side trucks (the DJ booth thing and the bar) with the centre band stage and the two door flats as the wings as as the main disco that took up half of the upstage area and also meant we couldn't have a crossover cus it was so big (we had to use the understage cross over instead... Hell! Esp during the park medley - happy days, kung fu, etc). For the show curtain / TABS we had like the wall of the outside of the disco with the full working disco doors as an entrance.
And then we had about two or three backdrops that could be flown in for the park, bedroom scenes. And for each backdrop there were the various trucks. For the house scenes we had two houses, for the park we had two sets of railings which were then struck and replaced with two sets of walls during the park medley. For the disco we had cinema seat trucks and a cinema type curtain / logo that was flown in (I dunno how to describe it), then there was a bedsit truck... etc.
This was a humungousssss set and we were short on space, even though we were in one of the bigger proffesional theatres in the region (Alexandra Theatre, B'ham... I dunno if you've heard of it?). It's too hard to describe! (I'll send you pics if you want?)
I saw a much simpler version of it where they only had the two side trucks (the bar and DJ booth) from the West End and a black backdrop for the disco. For the show cloth they had a painted version of ours but without the working doors. For the house scenes they added a few chairs and a sofa and for the bedsit they had a bed on a truck. The park scene was a large gate truck and for some reason the "outside the disco" scenes took place in the park, it worked well as there's not really an references to the location in the script.
I loved that show so much!

The posters on Roddy's bedsit? I'm ont quite sure!
My favourite memory has to be hiding in the park wall trucks and getting wheeled on in them every night to jump out from behind during the Kung Fu number! I loved the Act 1 ending, and the opening of Act 1 and the disco medley, and the opening of Act 2 and the bakcing vocals in "Sorry" and pretty much everything!
Oh my gosh! I love S.Ex! I've done it for the past two years now... What year did you do Boogie Nights in? We done Boogie Nights in 2008, and Oliver! this year. And I know what you mean! Becuase I've been under 16 for the past two I've been a "junior" (a chaperoned kid!) but because the director said I was skilled in dance I got put into the senior ensemble for Boogie Nights and for Oliver! I got down to the final 7 (out of 300+) for Dodger, but in the end she ended up going for the teeny weeny kid, so I was put into the principal dance group and had a few "bit" parts. I absolutely love doing them!

Well like I said... that's a design choice that you could use for practically any musical. It doesn't really say anything about the show itself.

We did Boogie Nights this summer, West Side Story last year and We Will Rock you the year before that. They did thoroughly modern millie before that but i didn't do that one. It's Oliver! this year though.
I absolutely love Boogie Nights though, everything is so fun, and the principals in our cast got so close with being locked in a theatre together hours before and after the rest of the cast came in. Plus the music is epic! None of our principals were particularly good dancers either, so ours dancing was hilarious. mine and Roddy's freestyling bits in the medleys were the funniest thing imagineable.

I like this thread as I'm trying to find a show that you can do with one set for Christmas time next year.
Am currently doing Little Shop with one set, no trucks and no ability to fly anything. Good times!

That reminds me, all the Nunsenses are one set. Including the Christmas one.

the revival versions of both Cabaret and Chicago are one set - as is Rocky Horror (traditionally), it takes place in a falling down old cinema. i guess those are all that come to mind for me right now, other than Rent.
