Singin' In The Rain

My local theatre group has just had their information evening for Singin' In The Rain. Just want to hear other people's opinions of the stage show. Anyone seen it on Broadway? What works and what doesn't?

I didn't see it on Broadway, but I saw it at a local theater. I thought it was great. Assuming the cast can tap and sing, it can be really phenomenal. And the title song is amazing, if done right. The whole concept of having rain inside is so cool and it's even cooler to watch. I secretly wish I was a boy so I could play Don and dance and sing in the rain, haha.

Seriously, that would be awesome! Mr. Green

I wish a local theatre would be doing that show... I'm dying to see this movie be done on stage.

I just read the script, to consider as a possible show, and the book is pretty much exactly liek the movie. need lots of money it is a spectacle show but fun and will sell sell sell

The book actually has developed the supporting characters more than the film did..

I've just been cast as Cosmo in our local production. We're only a small town and it is a huge show but our director knows what she is doing and she wouldn't have chosen the show if she didn't think we could pull it off.

The show starts at the end of May and runs until mid June. Don, Kathy and I have just learnt Good Mornin' and we start Moses next week. I'm looking forward to getting into it a bit more and learning Make 'Em Laugh. Should be a good show.

The show is pretty much the same as the movie with a couple of exceptions. Lina gets her own song and a couple more are thrown in there too.

I've been listening to the Broadway Cast Recording this week and it is extremely "Broadway", complete with a ridiculous amount of vibrato.

I just hope we can capture that 'glorious feeling' that the film does so well.

Saw Singin' in the Rain at a good local theater many years ago. It was great! Lots of fun, and followed the movie story line very closely. If you haven't seen the movie lately I recommend you view it soon.

Cosmo is a supporting role, but he is one of the three main characters in the show. He is also the comic relief. To do a good job on Cosmo you need to be a very athletic dancer. Watch the "Make em Laugh" number in the movie and you'll see what I mean. Cosmo can steal the show if he's good. You should have a great time doing this. Congratulations!
