ShyOkay, I was talking about this song to the musical director I was about to audition for and he said the song was a Soprano belt! Uhhh.... is this true? I always thought Fred was a mezzo.

I agree, Fred is definitely a mezzo. This is a belty song, but it's certainly doable for a mezzo.

Fred is a mezzo. I just played her and I am not a soprano by any means. Good song.

nah..it's definitely a mezzo song...no high at all..just needs to be acted well and use a strong voice..I even know some altos who can pull off the song!

I used my lower range, but I've seen it in Soprano. It makes more sense Mezzo though. lol.

I've seen a girl perform the song an octave higher than it's written. It seemed much more delicate because of the range. Fred is a more, "from the gut" kind of girl.

Ahh, okay, I see what you were saying. How strange! I agree, Fred's songs should never ever be sung an octave higher. That's just wrong. Lol. She's definitely a "from the gut" kind of girl, not a shrinking violet in the slightest.
